Mikayla Kitchen
Assistant Director, Redevelopment Authority of the County of Cumberland
Mikayla began her professional career working in Marketing and Social Media before joining the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Cumberland. Through her efforts to familiarize herself with the programs she was promoting, she developed a genuine interest in and appreciation for all things redevelopment. Over the years, she has risen to the position of Assistant Director of the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Cumberland.
In 2023, she successfully applied for and won her first grant of over $1million and began subsequently working on managing the County’s CDBG and HOME programs. She also spearheaded the Authority’s ‘Housing Choice Happy Hour’ events, connecting landlords with opportunities to provide affordable housing. In addition, she manages the Demolition Fund, the Streetview Program, the Blighted Property Reinvestment Board, and the CCHRA Workplace Safety Committee. Of course, she still manages the Authority’s social media and marketing presence.
Mikayla is currently attending Penn State for a degree in Law & Society, after which she hopes to complete law school and use her skills to give back to the community that she has rooted in: Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
